$20,000 Goal

The tragic consequences of pet overpopulation can be prevented – there is a solution. Thank you for being part of ‘The Fix’!

Why foster? Why spay and neuter?

This is Nehemiah. The rest of his litter and his mom, suffering from upper respiratory infections, had already been euthanized at the shelter. A plea was sent out to rescue organizations to save him since he was starting to show symptoms of this very common and treatable condition but one often beyond the capacity of public shelters to manage, and he would be next. “He is too young to die”, the plea started. Yet that is the fate of too many kittens, born to die. Female cats have litter after litter, their bodies exhausted and nutritionally depleted, often giving birth to sick kittens, and sometimes succumbing themselves to illness, or being euthanized in shelters. This cycle must stop. Please be part of the solution! We take vulnerable kittens directly from shelters, get them healthy and get them home! We offer low and no-cost spay/neuter clinics to get on the front end of the problem of too many unwanted litters. We are always looking for fosters, volunteers, adopters and donors!

Mission

Building on the legacy of its namesake, a cat welfare pioneer, the mission of Helen Sanders CatPAWS is to help more cats live full and cherished lives. One of its core values is that no rescue group, no shelter, no organization can save every pet alone and that animal welfare advocates must engage the community to be part of saving lives and reducing suffering.
