Children's Theatre of Long Beach

For more than a decade, Children’s Theatre of Long Beach (CTLB) has grown from a small nonprofit with a big dream into a cornerstone of artistic excellence and community engagement in our city. Founded in 2013 as a 501(c)(3) organization, we set out with a vision to serveong Beach families through accessible theatre experiences. Today, we are proud to have become an integral part of the lives of hundreds of children and their families — nurturing creativity, confidence, and connection through the arts.

Our mission has always been clear: to expand the landscape of theatre for youth by commissioning and developing new plays that are engaging, enriching, and educational. We serve a metropolitan area rich in culture, and our productions reflect the diversity of the community we love. CTLB strives to be a dynamic asset to Long Beach, bringing theatre to families from every socioeconomic and cultural background and creating memories that last a lifetime.

In past years, Long Beach Gives has helped us solve challenges we could not otherwise fund — from transportation to program expansion. This year, we are focusing our efforts on scholarship opportunities so that every child, regardless of circumstance, can participate fully in our programs.

Here’s what your donation can make possible:

• $2,500 — Scholarships for 9–13 students

  This level covers full registration for 9 students at the higher rate or 13 students at the lower rate.Your gift ensures that a full small cast of young artists can participate without financial barriers.

• $3,500 — Scholarships for 12–18 students

  This tier supports 12 students at the higher rate or 18 students at the lower rate.Your donation opens the door for an entire ensemble to access training, rehearsal, and performance opportunities.

• $5,000 — Scholarships for 18–26 students

  At this level, you fund 18 students at the higher rate or 26 students at the lower rate.Your support empowers nearly half of a full production company to participate at no cost.

• $7,000 — Scholarships for 25–36 students

  This tier provides full access for 25 students at the higher rate or 36 students at the lower rate.Your generosity ensures that an entire youth repertory cast — performers, designers, stage managers, and technicians — can participate fully and equitably.

Beyond covering student registration, your donation strengthens the CTLB's Artists Repertory Collective (ARC)/ Youth Repertory Development Fund production process. Additional funds allow students to take full ownership of their show, from concept to curtain call.

Expanded Production Possibilities

• Licensing Rights  Higher‑level funding allows students to choose more ambitious, diverse, and culturally relevant plays and musicals.

• Technical Equipment & Training  Donations support lighting instruments, sound equipment, scenic materials, props, and costumes — giving students hands‑on experience with professional tools.

• Guest Artist Mentorship  Funding brings in directors, designers, choreographers, and technicians who guide students through industry‑standard creative processes.

• Community Performance Support  Contributions help cover venue rentals, marketing materials, photography, videography, and outreach — ensuring students’ work reaches the wider community.

• Sustainability for ARC  Additional funds help build a year‑round youth repertory model, expanding opportunities for future productions and training.
