Vision

Importance Of Unimpaired (IOU) Mental Health envisions a world where no individual facing mental health challenges, suicidal thoughts, the aftermath of a suicide attempt, or the loss of a loved one to suicide is denied access to healing because of financial barriers. We strive to create communities where mental health conversations are met with understanding rather than stigma, where support is readily available, and where every person is empowered to pursue hope, healing, and a healthy future.

Our vision is to help build a society that recognizes mental wellness as essential to overall well-being and ensures that all individuals have access to the care, resources, and support they need to thrive.

Founder's Story

There are moments in life that change us forever. For me, that moment came when I lost my son to suicide.

As a parent, there is no greater heartbreak than watching your child struggle and feeling powerless to take away their pain. The grief that follows such a loss is difficult to put into words. Along with the overwhelming sadness came countless questions, regrets,

and the persistent feeling of helplessness. I found myself wondering what more could have been done, what resources might have helped, and how many other families were facing the same unimaginable reality.

While I could no longer help my son, I realized that I could honor his memory by helping others. That realization became my purpose.

What began as a desire to make a difference grew into IOU Mental Health.

Initially, I created a Facebook group dedicated to sharing mental health resources, encouragement, and inspiration for those struggling with mental health challenges and for the people who love them. I wanted to create a place where individuals could find support, hope, and the reminder that they were not alone.

With hope and purpose,
