Long Beach has once again shown the world who we are.

In the face of a federal government failure that left thousands of our neighbors at risk of going hungry, our city didn’t wait — we acted. Through the Long Beach Food Access Fund, an incredible $67,500 has already been distributed to 44 local nonprofits, each reaching a different segment of our community’s most vulnerable residents. From seniors to families, from unhoused neighbors to young people, food is getting where it’s needed most — because our nonprofits are doing extraordinary, life-saving work every single day.

This rapid response was only possible because so many came together. Thank you to the citizens of Long Beach who stepped up and donated. Thank you to the California Resource Center, Edison, and Long Beach CAP for believing in our community and fueling this urgent work.

When the federal government fails us, Long Beach proves — time and time again — that our community organizations, our residents, and our local leadership will always step up to protect one another. Long Beach takes care of its own. And we are far from done.

Together, we did something extraordinary. Long Beach Gives 2025 brought our community together in a powerful way—uniting neighbors, businesses, and nonprofits around one shared goal: making Long Beach stronger.

With 291 nonprofits across 16 cause areas, thousands of donors stepped up to show their love for our city. Since its beginning, Long Beach Gives has helped raise over $ 12 million to fuel critical programs and services right here in Long Beach.
