Everyone Deserves A Healthy Smile

So many members of our community are facing economic challenges - it’s hard to know where to even begin to help...

At the Children’s Dental Health Clinic, we are here to provide support when those challenges limit a family’s ability to prioritize and pay for oral health care for their children. We are dedicated to providing access to the comprehensive, compassionate and quality dental care everyone deserves - and we have been since 1932!

For those of us who have experienced any kind of mouth pain, we all know how debilitating it can be, impacting our physical and mental wellbeing. Imagine what it is like for those who struggle with access to care for any number of reasons... we are proud of the strides we’ve made in expanding access to care and improving the patient experience given the challenges we face in today’s healthcare landscape. As the safety-net oral health care provider for children and young adults in Greater Long Beach and South Los Angeles County, we serve 5,500 economically disadvantaged children and families each year, and we can't do it without you!

The vast majority of our patients are covered by Medi-Cal Dental through California’s Medicaid program. We typically only receive about half of the true costs of our services through insurance reimbursements, but we are committed to providing comprehensive care regardless of a patients’ insurance coverage or their ability to pay. That's why we need generous people like you to help us provide access to the quality dental care everyone deserves.

When you support us during Long Beach Gives - or any other time - you are giving children and families:

• Five dental kits for local health and wellness fairs with your $25 donation
• An oral hygiene visit and screening in our Oral Health Education Center with your $50 donation
• A specialized cleaning from one of our pediatric dental residents with your $75 donation
• A consultation with an oral surgeon as a child begins their journey to smile reconstruction with your $100 donation
• An orthodontic retainer for a teen after their braces are removed - helping to maintain their beautiful new smile - with your $250 donation
• Two visits for comprehensive oral health care with your $500 donation
