A New Way of Life Reentry Project

A nonprofit organization

A New Way of Life Reentry Project (ANWOL) is a nationally acclaimed, Black woman-founded and Black-led organization poised to transform the U.S. approach to criminal justice. Recognized as a successful national model, ANWOL is an innovative, holistic program embodying evidence‐informed practices, which state that successful reentry programs should be gender-specific, both holistic and individualized, therapeutic, and community‐based. Our intersectional approach centers women’s multi‐dimensional and interconnected needs, addressing multiple concerns and considering the ways in which mental illness, trauma, substance misuse and other factors exacerbate structural and personal barriers to successful reentry after periods of incarceration.

Mission

Our mission is to empower communities with opportunity where justice-impacted women heal, excel, and lead while disrupting systems of oppression and harm.
