$1,000 Goal

From Survival to Success: Fueling Careers, Growth, and Economic Freedom in Long Beach

Our 2026 Goal: $1,000

This Long Beach Gives, help us raise $1,000 to directly fund free career coaching, assistance with career placement, and skill-building for local women trapped in low-wage cycles. Every dollar directly sponsors the tools, transportation, and training needed to transition from survival jobs into thriving careers with benefits and upward mobility.

The Story of Impact

In Long Beach, too many women from under-served communities are trapped in a cycle of poverty—working multiple low-wage jobs without benefits, room for growth, or financial stability.

At the Alliance for Young Women and Girls (A4YWG), we build careers, not just temporary jobs.

Since 2014, we’ve empowered over 633 local women and girls to unlock upward economic mobility. Through our Entry-Level Career Training for Women, we break down systemic barriers by equipping participants with high-demand professional skills—including AI fluency, project management, data analysis, conflict resolution, and effective communication. We back this training up with personalized 1:1 career coaching, real-world workplace simulations, and assistance with career placement support into living-wage positions.

When you invest in a woman, you transform her life, her household, and the Long Beach community.

Hear directly from our current cohort:

"Learning the STAR method and focusing on my individual contributions helped me communicate with more confidence. [I have] improved my storytelling and interview skills using the STAR method."

Kathy, Current A4YWG Program Participant

"Having a Success Coach who balances high expectations with genuine empathy makes all the difference. The real-world workplace simulations gave me a realistic feel for cross-functional collaboration that I never had before."

Tiffany, Current A4YWG Program Participant

Our training delivers measurable results:

  • 98% Career Transition Rate into upwardly mobile fields.
  • 33% Promotion Rate within 12 months of employment.
  • 100% Graduate Confidence in self-promotion, interviewing, and workplace readiness.

Why Your Support Matters This Long Beach Gives

Because financial constraints should never stand between a woman and her potential, 100% of our training is completely free to participants.

To help our current cohort finish strong, we need to raise $1,000.
