Art Theatre Long Beach

It's the Art Theatre's Spectacular Speakers Campaign!  Help us raise money to replace our tired old audio speakers with new ones.

Last year, with your generous help, we purchased our fabulous 4K Digital Projector and Screen to upgrade your visual experience; now we are starting a fund to upgrade your sound experience inside the Art.  It's possible 8-track tapes were still in vogue when we purchased our present speakers, so help us complete the upgrade to your in-person surround sound theatre experience.

FUN FACT:  Did you know that the IRS laws regarding donations to nonprofits have changed FOR THE BETTER in 2026?  If you take the Standard Deduction on your taxes (as 90% of us do), you can for the first time also deduct an "above the line" donation to a qualifying organization (like us) right on your 1040, without having to itemize deductions!  So...you can take your Standard Deduction, PLUS you can write off a cash gift (up to $1,000 for Single filers and $2,000 for Joint filers) to the Art (you itemizers can still deduct as usual, of course).  You get the extra write-off, and we will give you a better in-house movie experience.  It's a WIN-WIN!

The Art remains the last single-screen independent theatre in the city of Long Beach, and exhibits classic, documentary, and festival films, as well as current first-run movies. The Art also supports community events like screenings by local and student filmmakers, book signings, the Cambodia Town Film Festival and the Q Film Festival, and makes a substantial contribution to local Long Beach schools by providing field trips at no charge to our schools.

2026 saw the launch of our Little Earth Cinema, where we provided FREE movies to kids every week during their summer break.  This is what we do.
