For more than 40 years, the Atlantic Alano Club (AAC) has been a home for those seeking recovery in the LGBTQ+ community. We provide a safe, welcoming space for people seeking freedom from alcoholism and addiction, offering 12-Step meetings, mentorship, and fellowship that changes lives.

At AAC, everyone is welcome. Our doors are open to all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or background. Meetings are free attend, and the club regularly provides community events to build fellowship – including karaoke, arts and crafts, nature hikes, attendance at Pride events, and more. What began as a small dream has grown into a vital resource for hundreds of people every week – people who arrive looking for hope, and discover community, acceptance, and lasting recovery.

Why Your Gift Matters

Your generosity will directly strengthen the Atlantic Alano Club’s future. We are working toward the purchase of a permanent building to ensure the recovery community will always have a home in Long Beach for generations to come. Every gift—large or small—helps us create a safer, more welcoming environment where the LGBTQ+ community can continue to recover, connect, and thrive.

Testimonials

The stories of our members say it best:

  • "The Atlantic Alano Club is a huge part of my recovery. I got sober back in the summer of 2022 in Florida and when I returned to Southern California, I knew I needed to find a place that held 12-step recovery meetings that were LGBTQIA+ friendly. I was lucky enough to find the AAC, and I continue to stay involved because it has given me a community I only dreamed of having. Being able to attend a meeting hall where I can be truly myself has helped me fully accept myself for who I am. Openness and welcoming energy is something truly unique that many attendees appreciate. I look forward to reaching our goal and being able to provide more services for our community." - Eduardo C.
  • “My sobriety began in the early '80s, before the Atlantic Alano Club was founded. At that time, most of our meetings were held at churches, we socialized at restaurants after the meetings, and we rented halls for social events. It was difficult to find spaces where LGBTQ+ people were welcome. It was also difficult for those in need to find us. When the club opened, we had created a place of our own, a visible place where others in the community could find recovery. The Atlantic Alano Club has made a big difference in my life, and in the lives of countless others over the last 35-plus years.” – Mike P., Long Beach

The Atlantic Alano Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Your gift is tax-deductible and directly fuels the recovery journeys of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies who count on AAC as their refuge and community.
