$2,500 Goal

Help CVC Raise $2,500 by September 24

Century Villages at Cabrillo (CVC) is a 27-acre supportive housing community in Long Beach that provides safe, stable homes for more than 1,500 residents, including Veterans, families, and individuals with disabilities and other special needs. Through a unique combination of permanent and transitional housing, on-site supportive services, and community partnerships, CVC helps people move beyond homelessness toward long-term stability and independence.

At CVC, we know that housing is the foundation—but a home alone is not always enough to overcome the effects of homelessness. Through Century Oasis Residential Services, residents have access to voluntary, person-centered services designed to strengthen housing stability, health, independence, and connection to community.

Building Independence and Housing Stability Through OT

One of our vital services is Occupational Therapy (OT). Our licensed occupational therapist works alongside residents and case managers to help residents build the skills, routines, and confidence needed to live more independently and maintain stable housing.

Through individual support and weekly therapeutic activities—including cooking, gardening, Coffee Club, music, wellness activities, and community groups—residents practice healthy living and daily life skills while building meaningful relationships with their neighbors.

The garden and cooking groups are especially connected: residents grow and harvest fresh ingredients in the community garden, use them to prepare meals together, and return compost to the garden. These activities create opportunities to build routines, practice skills, improve health, reduce isolation, and experience a sense of purpose and belonging.

Residents tell us what these opportunities mean to them.

With Your Help We Can Reach $2,500

This Long Beach Gives, our goal is to raise $2,500 by September 24 to specifically support cooking, gardening, and related therapeutic activities within our OT program, providing the resources and opportunities CVC’s formerly homeless residents need to thrive.

Your gift can make an immediate difference:

  • $25 provides ingredients for one weekly cooking group serving up to 20 residents—or $1,200 supports cooking group ingredients for an entire year.
  • $75 supports the production of a resident-developed holiday cookbook.
  • $125 provides a year of art supplies for therapeutic nature-based activities.
  • $300 provides adaptive equipment to help residents participate more independently in cooking and gardening.
  • $400 supports our community garden with six months of soil, seeds, and tools, or helps provide a pergola for year-round nature activities.

With your support, we can help residents like Don, Carlos, and Gabriel build healthier routines, develop greater independence, connect with their community, and achieve greater stability in their lives.

Will you help us reach our $2,500 goal and create more opportunities for CVC residents to grow, connect, and thrive?
