Expanding the Impact: Fall Care Kits Expanded

As the seasons change, so do the needs of the children and families we serve. Each year, our Fall Care Kits provide essential items such as warm jackets, new shoes, socks, undergarments, and grocery support to help our children and their families face the colder months with comfort and stability. Throughout the years, these kits have been a reflection of our mission in action: meeting families where they are with practical care and heartfelt intention. 

But this year, we're going a step further!

About Children Today: Fostering Stability & Success

The mission of Children Today is to foster stability ad success in children and families who are facing homelessness or who are involved in the child welfare system.  We do this by providing trauma-informed child development and family support services. We envision that all children under age six who have experienced homelessness or abuse and neglect should have a safe, nurturing place to spend their days playing, learning and growing, while their parents take steps towards stability. 

In the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year, thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we achieved significant milestones:

• We served 70 children from 50 households.
• Our kitchen provided 22,537 meals and snacks to children at no cost to families.
• We addressed developmental, physical, and behavioral concerns for 30 children.
• We distributed $40,000 ~ worth of gift cards and essential items to families, including clothing, shoes, toys, and household goods.
• In our most recent survey conducted this year: 
  • 100% of parents said their child is happy in our program
  • 87% said they are very satisfied and 12.9% said they were satisfied with the overall quality of care.

Beyond trauma-informed childcare and early education, your support enables us to provide vital resources such as clothing, hygiene products, and household essentials to families. Additionally, your partnership allows us to collaborate with other community-based organizations to ensure families have access to additional resources and interventions to foster their stability and success.
