OUR MISSION: At the Do Good Daniels Family Foundation, we empower youth and their families to #DoGood by providing housing, education, life skills, mentorship, and care management. We give them the tools they need to unleash their full potential and thrive.

OUR VISION: We envision a future where youth and families are seen, supported, and thriving. A future where communities are built on love, stability, and opportunity — and everyone has what they need to Do Good, Be Good, and Spread Good.

WHO WE SERVE AND WHY: We serve young people ages 13 to 25 and the support systems that hold them up. That includes families, caregivers, mentors, and the community members who walk with them every day. Our work centers those facing real barriers. We support youth and families living in low-income and LMI neighborhoods, those who are systems impacted or justice impacted, and people carrying the weight of trauma, generational hardship, or disconnection. Whether someone is struggling with housing instability, trying to stay in school, or navigating life after incarceration, we meet them with care, consistency, and real tools that make a difference.

We are committed to serving youth and families throughout Long Beach and the Harbor Area through housing support, school partnerships, community-based programming, and the development of our new Youth and Family Services Hub. Our focus is on reaching those who are often overlooked. We show up with love, strategy, and culturally relevant programs that meet people where they are. Whether it is care navigation, mentorship, life skills education, or healing-centered support, everything we offer is designed to help families stabilize, grow, and thrive.

WHAT WE DO: We show up for youth and families with hands-on support that is real, relevant, and rooted in relationships. Through housing, mentorship, education, and care coordination, we walk with people as they navigate real-life challenges like housing instability, school struggles, trauma, and disconnection.

Our programs include:

  • Safe and supportive transitional housing for women and children
  • School-based and community workshops focused on communication, literacy, emotional regulation, anti-violence, and self-worth
  • Mentorship and empowering experiences for young men
  • Youth and family services that connect people to care, resources, and strong support systems

Everything we do is about building trust, supporting families, and creating spaces where young people can thrive.

OUR STORY: The Do Good Daniels Family Foundation started with real-life struggle, real love, and a mission built from lived experience. There was a time our own family was on the edge of homelessness. Not because we weren’t trying, but because life was doing what life does. Bills stacked up. Support was limited. We were just trying to stay afloat, like so many other families in our community. But even during the hardest times, we kept showing up and choosing to do good. Quietly. Consistently. Whether it was mentoring young people, dropping off meals, helping someone move, or just offering a listening ear, we stayed rooted in service.

Even when no one was watching, someone was. In 2019, our family was invited to The Ellen Show and received the largest single gift in the show’s history — $1 million. Half of that was given directly to us so we could rebuild, get out of debt, purchase a home, and pick up the pieces. The other half? We were blessed with the opportunity to give it away.

Through a digital series called Do Good Daniels in partnership with Ellen and Cheerios, we had the opportunity to give away $500,000 to support people and organizations who were doing powerful work and facing real-life needs. That moment changed everything. It gave us confirmation of our purpose — to support youth and families just like ours. That’s when we officially launched The Do Good Daniels Family Foundation. We turned our story into service. Our struggle into impact. And our hearts into a foundation that continues to do good, be good, and spread good.

BE PART OF THE GOOD: We are building something real, rooted in love, impact, and tangible support. And we need you with us. Our young people and their families need to be seen, supported, and lifted more than ever. When they thrive, we all thrive. Support our #DoGood movement. Whether you give to general operations where it is needed most, invest in a specific program, or help bring something new and innovative to life, your support makes a difference. We believe in impact. We believe in good. We believe in the power of collective storytelling and shared responsibility. And we believe in you.

Let’s Do Good. Be Good. Spread Good. Together.
