Golden State Humane Society

A nonprofit organization

Golden State Humane Society kept its doors open to all in need of affordable veterinary care from the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic that gripped us all. Knowing that pets also needed support during this crisis, our entire staff braved COVID-19 and worked tirelessly as local veterinary hospitals shuttered their doors. Spay and neuter surgeries did not stop. We administered tens of thousands of vaccines and cared for hundreds of patients through our health clinics. We continued to provide free services through our Veteran and Feral Fridays Programs. This is who we are and have been for 50 years.

We now need the support of our community in continuing our mission of offering low-cost spay, neuter, vaccine, and veterinary care to Southern California. Please help us provide free care for the furry friends of those we honor most by donating through supporters who are fundraising for our Veteran Program. Or perhaps you'd like to see us continue our fight against feral cat overpopulation by contributing through supporters who are fundraising for Feral Fridays. We also need everyday funding to keep our costs low and doors open. Always open.

Mission

Founded in 1972, Golden State Humane Society provides low-cost spay, neuter, vaccine, and basic veterinary care focusing on under-served communities and the reduction of unwanted dogs and cats in Southern California. We do this by operating two animal care clinics in Orange County and South Los Angeles and providing humane education outreach.
