Harbor Area Farmers Markets

Every week Harbor Area Farmers Market organizes and holds six certified farmers markets, three of which are in Long Beach including Bixby Knolls, Downtown Long Beach and the Marina. We exist to help market communities and support low income and impacted populations. During the pandemic, we expanded food access by delivering healthy food to underserved communities and created produce boxes available for pickup. Our online shopping page helps further our mission of delivering healthy food to underserved and impacted communities, especially in times of crisis and global pandemic. Harbor Area Farmers Market shoppers may access and use SNAP/EBT benefits at all of our markets.

Our certified farmers markets only allow California farmers to sell what they grow, so you know where your food comes from. Most of the produce at our markets is grown within 200 miles of the markets, so the food itself is more nutritious and fresher than the grocery store. Our farmers markets provide a livelihood for hundreds of farmers. Our markets encourage diversity of food, leading to a more sustainable agriculture system. We exist to help Market communities, encouraging cross-interaction , community and partnerships around the market.

We are raising funds to continue the Healthy Food Project, the funds will be used to give away free farm boxes to impacted communities.
