Ground Education is turning 10!
We're so excited to continue growing our program to serve our Long Beach youth.
Through Ground Education's eco-STEAM program, underutilized corners of schoolyards become dynamic edible gardens, nature paths, and green spaces that support hands-on learning and spark imagination.
This school year, our outdoor monthly lessons will engage more than 18,000 LBUSD elementary students at 33 schools. Beyond supporting classroom concepts, our program addresses a range of important needs including equitable access to nature and hands-on learning opportunities, social-emotional fortitude and skill building, nutrition, community awareness and engagement, and of course, fun!
Our program is unique because of our approach: we bring nature directly to where children already learn—on campus, during the regular school day. This helps eliminate economic and transportation barriers and improves accessibility for all.
We hope you'll celebrate 10 Years with us by donating a meaningful amount--$75 will support an entire year's worth of lessons for one deserving student.
Our mission is to partner with Long Beach public elementary schools to provide edible gardens and fun nature spaces paired with carefully planned eco-STEAM garden lessons that inspire students to learn, to try healthy foods and to collaborate while having an appreciation for the environment and world we live in.
