The “I Have A Dream” Foundation–Los Angeles (IHADLA) is dedicated to helping youth from under-resourced communities reach their full potential and achieve their dreams. Since 1987, IHADLA has provided long-term, individualized support to young people and their families, helping Dreamer Scholars navigate the journey from elementary school through high school and into post-secondary education and careers.
IHADLA takes a whole-child approach, providing academic, social-emotional, cultural, and experiential programming alongside mentorship, college and career preparation, and financial support. Rather than supporting students for only a single school year, IHADLA builds lasting relationships with Dreamer Scholars and their families, staying alongside them throughout their educational journey and into adulthood.
Today, IHADLA serves nearly 300 youth across programs in Los Angeles County. Since its founding, the organization has impacted nearly 11,500 Dreamer Scholars, families, and community members. IHADLA’s programs are designed to remove barriers to educational success, expand opportunities, and empower young people to envision and pursue a future they may not otherwise have believed possible.
At the heart of IHADLA’s work is a simple belief: when young people have access to the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to succeed, they can achieve their wildest dreams.
