We’re launching the Power of 100 Campaign to build our very first dedicated community newsroom and broadcast studio right here in the heart of Long Beach! This will be a vibrant hub where local news, culture, and creativity come to life—powered by the people, for the people.

Over the past year, we’ve made remarkable progress—from integrating cutting-edge technology in our studio to broadcasting live from remote locations. Our momentum is strong: we’ve expanded our membership, launched nine new regular shows, and welcomed six talented staff members.

Our mission is unwavering: to grow in service to Long Beach. Our next milestone is bold and essential—a dedicated newsroom and studio space. This will be a game-changer for local journalism and community storytelling..

KLBP supports the First Amendment by providing a free speech platform that gives voice to your neighbors, friends, and family. We provide access to radio for local musicians,  artists, storytellers and journalists as a priority. We provide education and training for those residents living within our diverse neighborhoods who desire to learn or improve broadcasting and podcasting skills. Our radio education workshops are free and open to the public.

With Your Donations...

  • We amplify underrepresented voices
  • Train and empower emerging journalists
  • Broadcast local stories from every corner of the city
  • Create a permanent home for Long Beach’s independent airwaves

Testimonials

"I loved being an intern for KLBP. I learned so much about talking to people, gaining connections, and just the nitty gritty of radio in general. My favorite part was going to events because they were so fun and seeing how much KLBP really impacts the community."  - Jensen P., Intern

"Being an intern with KLBP: Long Beach Pubic Radio has been a blessing, and brought me so much knowledge about what it takes to run a radio station.
