Supporting 99.1 FM KLBP [Long Beach Public Radio] means investing in LOCAL Media, LOCAL Music and LOCAL Culture. It means creating a stronger, more connected Long Beach. Community radio preserves independent media, supports identity diversity, and provides our neighbors with a voice by broadcasting local stories.

Unlike commercial stations, we welcome volunteers, interns, students, and residents to learn broadcasting, journalism, audio production, and media literacy skills. WE TURN LISTENERS INTO CREATORS and build valuable skills across generations. Community radio is often where emerging artists get their first airplay. We showcase genres, traditions, and cultural programming that commercial stations often ignore, nurturing a thriving local arts scene.

KLBP is locally owned and operated, so your support has a DIRECT LOCAL IMPACT! Donations stay in the community — helping pay for equipment, tower rent, licensing, streaming, and local programming. WHY IT MATTERS: Even modest donations make a tangible difference and help KLBP realize our goals which include: 1) A new studio and newsroom space; 2) "on the street" community voice booths; 3) more live local music broadcasts.

KLBP supports the First Amendment by providing a free speech platform that gives voice to your neighbors, friends, and family. We provide access to radio for local musicians,  artists, storytellers and journalists as a priority. We provide education and training for those residents living within our diverse neighborhoods who desire to learn or improve broadcasting and podcasting skills. Our radio education workshops are free and open to the public.
