Little Owl Foundation for Childhood Education supports educators, parents, families, and the community.
Educators: LOF provides professional development grants and continuing education workshops for educators. With your help, we can expand our reach of professional development grants to additional colleges and universities.
Parents: We provide workshops, speaking engagements, and educational resources to parents. Additional funding will allow us to develop and plan a robust speaker series directed towards parents and educators in the community.
Families: LOF provides funds to select students which covers partial costs of the educational program at Little Owl School. With your help, we can expand these scholarships to support students at additional early childhood education programs throughout Long Beach.
Community: LOF provides funds and support for community organizations and events such as Long Beach Early Childhood Education Symposium, the Mayor's Fund for Long Beach, and the Celebration of the Young Child - Long Beach Public Library.
We promote, engage, and support progressive education for children.
We believe in the necessary role that education provides in creating a thoughtful, productive and creative society. Knowing that education cannot be a one size fits all model we believe in finding individuals talents and strengths through divergent and progressive education.
We believe that progressive education values everyone’s unique way of learning about the world around them both in formal (school) and informal (life experiences) settings.
