Mess 2 A Message

A nonprofit organization

M2AM has successfully placed over 25 homeless individuals in housing and treatment centers during the pandemic. We continue to visit homeless encampments and individuals to encourage them to seek refuge in centers. We also provide single mothers and whole families who are facing food insecurity with meals and groceries.

Testimonials

My name is Jordan Brock and I am a recovering heroin addict. I am 28 years old, a single mom, and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. I moved to Long Beach, CA from West Virginia on January 11, 2019 with the hopes of starting a new, sober life. When I first arrived on January 11th, I was met by Claudia Silverthorn, the founder and CEO of Mess 2 a
Message. She took care of me while I detoxed, she prayed with me, got me into a treatment program and showed me how to live life without the use of drugs or alcohol. She helped me get on my feet and she introduced me to a whole new life I never knew I could live. Every Friday, I showed up for Mess 2 a Message, I fellowshipped with other recovering addicts and
shared my story. I soon became a leader of the organization. My relationship with my higher power started growing, I was strong in my 12-step recovery and for the first time in my life I felt as if I had a purpose. I don't know if I would be alive today if it wasn't for M2AM. The leaders and the people of this group are like none other. We are family. We serve the people of our community and we give them the tools they need in their life to succeed. We offer 12-step classes as well as sponsorship. Recovery is possible and M2AM is setting a prime example of that. We give people hope, and most of all, we get to save the lives others who are lost and broken due to their addiction.

Addiction is real. It does not discriminate and it will continue to be a problem in our community. We rely on the support from others so that we may continue changing the world of addiction, one life at a time.

I'm proud to say that January 11, 2019 was not only the day that I chose to make a change, but that was the last day that I had to inject heroin into my body.

Today, I am a good mother. I am a productive member of society. And today, I AM FREE.

With best regards,
Jordan Brock

Mission

The chief mission for Mess 2 A Message is to build rapport with homeless individuals, mental health consumers, drug and alcohol addicts and connect them with the services that are required to make the necessary life changes to become active members of society. Most of our consumers do not feel comfortable in a conventional type of office. Our goal is to modernize the traditional pattern of outreach in order to ignite a desire for sustainable change.
