The Moore Institute for Plastic Pollution Research along with our sister organization, Algalita, are creating a center for research and learning in Long Beach. The Moore Institute will have visiting students and scientists in our lab to use our state-of-the-art equipment and to encourage interactions between the two. Our research will be part of the information shared with students in the classroom that Algalita will be running in the center.

Our mission is to expand our knowledge about plastics and how they impact our environment and our health. Our goal is to provide the results of our findings to governmental policy makers and industry decision makers. We will also continue to share our data with our sister organization, Algalita, to enhance their educational efforts to inspire our youth to become stewards of the Earth.
