Over a decade ago, in 2013, Children’s Theatre of Long Beach (CTLB), founded as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and set out with a vision to serve the city’s families. Today, after ten years of unwavering dedication, we have grown to become a cornerstone of artistic excellence and community engagement in Long Beach. Our journey began in response to the growing demand for children’s theatre programs and family entertainment, and we’ve exceeded our own aspirations. we have not only achieved our goals but have become an integral part of the lives of hundreds of children and their families.
Our goal is to contribute to the growing body of theatre for youth with the commission and development of new plays that are engaging, enriching, and educational. We serve a metropolitan area rich in culture. Our productions reflect arts and education for a diverse population. We strive for CTLB to be a dynamic asset to the community and are determined to bring theatre to families from every socioeconomic and cultural background while creating strong memories for kids that will last a lifetime.
In the past we've used Long Beach Gives as an opportunity to solve a problem we wouldn't directly have the funds for. This year we have a different goal in mind thanks to the amazing team at the Center Theatre Group. Last semester we applied and were accepted by the folks at CTG for their Student Matinees. They gave us 50 free tickets so that we could take our students from across all of our different programs to see the Life of Pi. However, Transportation is not provided and the students who signed up had to pay a fee so that we could rent a bus. This year we're fundraising to send our next group of kids free of charge to see Roald Dahl's The Enormous Crocodile, The musical.
Here's what your money can do for these students:
$2,000 = Snacks, water and a party bus for 20-30 students.
$3,000 = Snacks, water and a party bus for 40-50 students.
$4,000 = Snacks, water and a party bus for 20-30 students to see the Enormous Crocodile and another show in the spring!
$6,000= Snacks, water and a party bus for 40-50 students to see the Enormous Crocodile and another show in the spring!
Thank you for your interest in our mission and programs. We hope that you'll donate, if you are able, to help us continue children and families’ access to the arts.
