Every Community Needs Heroes

When tragedy strikes, first responders call TIP of Long Beach. That’s when our specially trained volunteers arrive — everyday people with extraordinary compassion. They may not wear capes, but they show up as real-life heroes to comfort survivors, families, and bystanders in crisis.

Since 2021, our volunteer heroes have been on call 24/7, 365 days a year, standing strong beside our community when it needs us most.

Why Heroes Are Needed

After the sirens fade, families are left in shock, grief, and confusion. In that moment, a calm, steady presence can change everything.

“When my husband passed suddenly, a TIP volunteer stayed with me and my daughter through the hardest hours. They guided us, comforted us, and helped us take the first steps forward. I don’t know what we would have done without TIP.”— TIP Client, Long Beach

Your donation powers these everyday heroes — giving them the training, tools, and support they need to answer the call.

Mission

The Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) of Long Beach is a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring no one faces tragedy alone. Our specially trained volunteers provide immediate emotional first aid and practical support in the aftermath of emergencies—day or night, 24/7, 365 days a year.

Since 2021, TIP has proudly partnered with Long Beach law enforcement, fire departments, and hospitals to respond on-scene. In addition to supporting survivors, families, witnesses, and bystanders, our volunteers stand alongside first responders—freeing them to focus on their critical duties while we care for those left behind.

Our mission is simple: to bring compassion, calm, and connection in life’s most difficult moments—helping survivors take their very first steps toward healing.
