Since 1982, the Literary Women's Festival of Authors has served the Long Beach community by providing a world-class event that empowers both established and emerging female authors to share their stories, sell their work, and engage with readers.
In alignment with our mission, we are especially proud of our Emerging Writers program. Each year, seven aspiring young women writers from CSULB, Long Beach City College, Chapman University, and PEN America Los Angeles are selected to attend the festival as guests and engage with the seven presenting authors. They are introduced to the audience and receive program and social media recognition, supporting their literary aspirations. Additionally, Literary Women supports our community by donating funds annually to the Long Beach Public Library to purchase books featured at the upcoming festival.
Due to ever increasing costs we rely on the generosity of our sponsors and donors to make the festival affordable. Because we are a 100 percent volunteer organization, every dollar donated goes directly toward the annual festival.
