LBP is a community theatre, we produce plays and musicals for the community, by the community. Along with being one of the oldest arts organizations in the city, we are an affordable arts destination for our city and surrounding areas. We produce a variety of plays and musicals so that there is something for everyone.

LBP's production schedule includes 13 shows on two stages throughout the calendar year, the Mainstage and Studio theatres. Shows range to include plays, musicals, comedies, dramas, classics, and contemporary work. The artistic goal of LBP is to appeal to everyone in our community in our seasons. With a wide range of offerings, the hope is that everyone in Long Beach and our surrounding communities will connect with one of our productions. As a community theatre our actors are volunteers, and the production team are local designers and directors. LBP strives to be a community theatre for all of our community.

Testimonials

As a non-profit with many volunteers, an important way to know that LBP is on the right track is returning volunteers. Performers, backstage crew, and ushers, return show after show because of the welcoming and entertaining culture that has been developed at LBP.
