Bridging Gaps: Your Gift this Long Beach Gives Funds Innovation in Care, Creating Impact for Generations

At Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA), we believe that true wellness happens when all aspects of a person’s life are supported — mind, body, and community. Our programs are designed to bridge gaps in care, access, and opportunity so that everyone can thrive.

From physical and mental health integration to innovative supports for neurodiverse individuals to connecting hospital care with community-based prevention, MHALA is creating solutions that improve outcomes today and build healthier futures for generations to come.

With your support, we can:

  • Bridge the gap between physical and mental health through our nursing and physical healthcare services.
  • Bridge the gap between traditional mental health services and neurodiverse support with innovative, future-focused programs.
  • Bridge the gap between hospital care and preventive community services, reducing strain on emergency rooms and improving overall health.
  • Bridge the gap between workforce demand and trained frontline workers, ensuring people have access to the care they need.
  • Bridge the gap between military service and civilian life through our Veteran Resource Center, offering housing, employment, benefits navigation, and skill building.

This Long Beach Gives, your gift fuels care that meets people at every point of need. Together, we can create impact that lasts for generations.

Free virtual mindfulness training for our community as part of Long Beach Gives.

On September 18 at 12:30 pm — Long Beach Gives Day! — we are offering a free, 30-minute virtual mindfulness class. The session is open to everyone, but we kindly ask that you consider making a donation before, during, or after the session to help bring resources like this to even more people in our community.

Mindfulness is more than a practice — it’s a way to bridge the gap between physical and mental health, giving us tools to stay grounded, resilient, and present.
