Our staff regularly visits local high school and college campuses to provide workshops and guest lectures to local students interested in media and journalism. In 2024-25, The562 also launched its Student Photo Competition, awarding prizes to some of the best young photographers across the city, with a panel of professional photographers and journalists judging their work.
The562 also embraces and celebrates the diversity in the city of Long Beach, putting forth a multi-racial group of writers, photographers and videographers to cover every corner of the city.
