Brain Rehabilitation And Injury Network

The services we provide extend the journey of recovery for brain injured adults after their insurance has stopped. We do not turn anyone away. If a survivor cannot afford the therapies we offer, scholarships are provided. We provide speech therapy, cognitive therapy, strength training, literacy class, breathe and balance class, massage therapy, choir, family support group and acupuncture. In addition we offer a free Tuesday night group meeting with survivors, their families and volunteers. The goal is social interaction and support as well as cognitive games and informational speakers. There are approximately 75 to 100 in attendance weekly.

We offer a unique partnership program in which a trained volunteer is paired with a survivor to lend support to the family as well as the individual. The role of the volunteer is to help the survivor formulate the next part of their journey and encourage them in the steps to achieve their goal.

Another unique program we offer is choir for any survivor who wishes to participate. Those who are unable to speak, can sing because it uses a different part of the brain. They enjoy performing at various groups.

Our family support group allows family members to be encouraged and trained to help effectively but also allows them to bring their survivor for games with volunteers in a separate area. Many families do not have anyone to leave their survivor with and must offer constant care.
