Help care for our unhoused neighbors!
For nearly 20 years Urban Community Outreach has been providing a Drop-In Center on Sunday afternoons at First Congregational Church for our unhoused neighbors and anyone else who needs a good hot meal and a place to rest. UCO is serving more than 200 meals on a Sunday and providing groceries to those with cooking facilities. Everyone is welcome!
UCO provides medical care monthly thanks to our incredibly dedicated volunteer nurse.
UCO provides a housing specialist who helps clients navigate complicated housing issues and who negotiates with landlords. Recently, our housing specialist was able to help a senior citizen apply for a housing vouch and now, she and her two grandchildren are in a safe permanent home.
UCO has been caring for our neighbors since 2008. UCO's work is done by it's talented and devoted staff. We need your support to help them do their work - feeding and housing our unhoused neighbors in Long Beach.
$50 would buy enough food for 25 meals.
$500 could help save someone from being evicted.
