Long Beach has long been a city defined by its diversity, resilience, and creativity. For over a century, the African American community has played a vital role in building that spirit, shaping the character of our neighborhoods, and enriching the cultural life of our city. The African American Cultural Center of Long Beach (AACCLB) exists to honor those contributions—past, present, and future—while providing a permanent home where our stories can be told, preserved, and celebrated.

As both the Executive Director of the Miller Foundation and a proud board member of AACCLB, I believe deeply in this vision. This Center will not only showcase our history through exhibits and the treasured Forgotten Images Gallery, but also serve as a hub for education, healing, and inspiration. It will be a gathering place that strengthens our community and invites people of all ages and backgrounds to learn, connect, and grow.

Today, I invite you to stand with us. Your gift to AACCLB through Long Beach Gives is more than a donation—it is an investment in dignity, in history, and in the future of Long Beach. Together, we can ensure that our city continues to celebrate the richness of its African American heritage while inspiring generations to come.
