My name is Jocelyn Espinoza, Program Coordinator with The Heart of Ida. My journey with this incredible organization began in September, 2022 when I was readjusting my life after a tough loss.

Heart of Ida opened the doors to  me as an intern from the Gerontology program to provide support with Digital Inclusion efforts. In 2023, I joined the team as a Program Assistant and it has been an experience that allowed me to grow as a professional, but also as a human being.

Being a Latina, raised by my abuel@s ( grandparents), I feel the need of giving back to those who paved the way for us.

On September 19th, thousands of people will show their support for their favorite Long Beach nonprofit. Every donation on that day will help us at Heart of Ida to continue our work to support Long Beach seniors in need with programs and services that sustain independence and connection within their community.

Now, more than ever, we need your help. Funding for our #StayConnected initiatives has expired, but there is so much more work to be done!
