Partners of Parks enriches the Long Beach community by expanding access to parks, recreation, and nature. We collaborate with donors, community groups, and the City to fund programs, amenities, and scholarships that ensure all residents—youth, seniors, families, and pets—can enjoy safe, vibrant, and equitable park experiences. This year, we are raising funds for the El Dorado Nature Center, with a goal of reaching $50,000.
The El Dorado Nature Center is an amazing example of what can happen when local community and City Government come together with foresight and a dream. Established in 1969, this resource was transformed from a once vast agricultural center to a wildlife sanctuary in the middle of Southern California’s urban sprawl. The Nature Center’s mission to connect people and nature in the heart of the city took on a completely different meaning during the pandemic. Now welcoming almost 600,000 visitors annually, El Dorado Nature Center is what our founders knew it always could be, a thriving and vibrant nature preserve where urban wildlife and humans connect daily.
Due to city budget cuts, the Nature Center is at risk of being closed to the public on Tuesdays and moving to a 5-day service schedule. Partners of Parks is committed to raising these funds via Long Beach Gives to support the city's one and only Nature Center. This begins with Long Beach Gives!
How can you help? Your tax deductible donation via Long Beach Gives goes directly towards the El Dorado Nature Center's continuity of service. You can assist us by sharing this link, posting on social media, following us @poplongbeach.
All donation amounts are welcomed!
