Winter in Willmore began in 2012 with a simple vision: to create a welcoming holiday celebration where every neighbor could experience the joy of the season, regardless of income or circumstance.
Over the years, that vision has grown into one of Willmore City’s most cherished traditions. Each December, the historic Bembridge House comes alive with music, children’s activities, holiday performers, falling snow, warm treats, and visits with Santa. Families, seniors, people with disabilities, and neighbors from throughout Long Beach gather to celebrate together—all completely free of charge.
For many local children, Winter in Willmore provides holiday experiences their families might not otherwise be able to afford. For longtime residents, it is a place to reconnect with neighbors and feel the strength of their community. For everyone who attends, it is a reminder that the holidays are brighter when no one is left out.
Since 2012, Winter in Willmore has remained possible because of volunteers, local partners, and generous sponsors who believe every family deserves a little holiday magic. With dependable funding sources no longer available, community support is more important than ever. Together, we can preserve this beloved tradition and ensure Winter in Willmore remains free, inclusive, and accessible for years to come.
