Patricia, a participant in the Health Department’s Black Infant Health program, was caring for two young children while experiencing postpartum anxiety and depression. After losing access to a car, getting out of the house safely with her toddler and baby became even harder.
Through the Health and Human Services (HHS) Fund, $300 in Direct Client Support provided Patricia with a double stroller.
Patricia shared: "I really appreciate this stroller [and] all you do for me and my kids. We went to the pool and park and [my 2-year-old] was the first to jump in as soon as we pulled it out. It's going to help us a lot just being able to get out more with the kids with less anxiety." Patricia's case demonstrates how one simple item can allow for more mobility and a fuller, safer life experience.
