Support the Next Chapter of Sowing Seeds of Change

I’m proud to serve on the board of Sowing Seeds of Change, a nonprofit urban farm here in Long Beach. We work with youth and young adults with disabilities and those aging out of the foster care system, offering job training, mentorship, and hands-on education in growing food and caring for the land. The produce grown by our students is shared with local families facing food insecurity and with chefs who value fresh, organic, locally grown ingredients.

Until now, our farm was tucked into a former vacant lot. This year, we’re expanding into a much bigger space: five acres at The Growing Experience, a site with a long history of serving the community. This expansion gives us the chance to deepen our impact, but it also comes with big needs.

With your help, we can:

• Grow more food and get it to more families across Long Beach

• Rebuild the farm’s irrigation system so we can farm the land more effectively

• Create a vibrant community hub with workshops, classes, and market days
