Please support John's fundraising for LBCC's

Hello, I'm John Fylpaa, former Dean of Physical Education and Athletics at Long Beach City College. I also taught classes at LBCC for many years. Since my retirement from teaching and administration, I stay actively involved with the college as a member of the LBCC Foundation's Board of Governors, and as a member of the BOG Athletics Committee.

I was born and raised in Long Beach, and attended elementary through high school in the LB Unified School District. Many of my classmates from those days and I remain close friends!

Giving back to the community has always been important to me. I’ve served in leadership positions with the Long Beach Century Club, and LBS Financial Credit Union among others.

It is my pleasure to support the Foundation’s Long Beach Gives campaign to enhance the Basic Needs Endowment Fund, because when we invest in students, we invest in a healthier, more equitable future. The Basic Needs program assists students dealing with financial struggles to obtain food at the Viking Vault, plus assistance in finding housing, and obtain transportation and parking permits.

Hungry Students have difficulty with focusing on their studies!

Your donation through my page here will help empower our current students to succeed.

I am truly grateful for your contribution!
