Our family is committed to making Long Beach a better place!
By supporting The Guidance Center of Long Beach, we know that LB children's mental health concerns are addressed regardless of their circumstances.
The Guidance Center Family Resource Center seeks to fill the gaps between wellness and specialty mental health services.
These services are essential in urban areas like West Long Beach (90813), where 46% of families live below the poverty line, and many are unemployed and unhoused. The FRC will act as a comprehensive resource hub that supports current clients as well as families in the community by fostering a holistic approach to helping them navigate life’s challenges.
Nearly 9% of Long Beach residents are uninsured (highest in 90813), and an additional 23% are insured through Medi-Cal.
Nearby communities struggle with poor access to fresh and healthy food.
The Guidance Center aims to address the social determinants of health in low-income communities by providing linkages to basic needs and resources.
In doing so, The Guidance Center also hopes to empower families to advocate for themselves and their children.
