Your gift through this page here will support the basic needs of many of our students with food insecurity as they prepare to move on to the next level of education and into their chosen careers.
I’m Lucy Johnson, and I have been involved with various activities in Long Beach off and on since I was a child splashing in the ocean outside the now (sadly) demolished Pacific Coast Club. In 1980 I moved to Long Beach, and found everything I need right here.
Now retired, I keep busy volunteering for various activities on behalf of local nonprofit organizations, including the Long Beach City College Foundation, where I am honored to serve on the Foundation’s Board of Governors.
I am raising funds through Long Beach Gives 2026 on behalf of the Foundation’s Basic Needs Endowment Fund campaign to help the approximately 25% of LBCC students who often don't know where their next meals will come from.
Hungry students find it difficult to concentrate on their studies!
Please consider making a donation of at least $10 through my page here, to help me reach my personal $500 goal. You may also donate to any of the other LBCCF programs featured on the Foundation's organization page for LBGives.
