Help Support Rob's LBCC Basic Needs Endowment

Hello, I'm Rob Wigod. After more than 40 years as a teacher, coach, and administrator in the California Interscholastic Federation, Southern Section, most recently after 12 years as the Commissioner of CIFSS, I retired at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. 

While serving as Commissioner, my commitment was to the development, mentorship, and advancement of youth and community sports in California. I am proud to have started establishment of a competitive equity playoff system for all team sports in the CIF, and to have added new championship sports to the Section, especially for girls. These new sports included Wrestling, Lacrosse, Cheer, Beach Volleyball, and Flag Football.

In the time since my retirement I have been honored to be named to the Long Beach City College Foundation's Board of Governors, and currently sit on the BOG Executive and Athletics Committees.

I wholeheartedly support the Foundation's goal of funding the Basic Needs Endowment Fund through Long Beach Gives 2026. Too many of our students are insecure regarding food, housing, and transportation, and are able to find assistance through the Basic Needs program.

Hungry Students have difficulty with focusing on their academics!

Your donation through my page here will help provide financially challenged LBCC students with free food, assistance in locating housing, and assistance with transportation needs.
