Be the Change – Help Families Thrive

Meet one of the resilient faces of Harbor Interfaith Services—a devoted grandfather caring for his twin grandsons and granddaughters. Before finding us, he was sleeping in his car, doing everything he could to protect and care for the children he loves. His story is not uncommon, but it is one of hope, courage, and transformation.

Through the support of community members like you, this family is now safe in our family shelter. While still temporary, they finally have a roof over their heads, access to hot meals, case management, and hope for a brighter tomorrow. Our goal is to help them transition into permanent supportive housing, where they can continue to heal and grow together.

Harbor Interfaith Services provides essential support to over 7,000 individuals each year across the South Bay, including San Pedro, Torrance, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Lomita, Harbor City, El Segundo, Wilmington, Carson, and Long Beach. We meet people where they are, offering comprehensive services like:

• Emergency shelter for families and individuals

• Nutritious groceries through our food pantry

• Childcare and education at our Children’s Center

• 18-month transitional housing through the A.L.L. Program (Accelerated Learning & Living)

• Street outreach and supportive housing placement

• Workforce development and advocacy

This year, we proudly celebrate 50 years of service, standing beside those experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and systemic hardship. But we cannot do it alone.
