Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

I’m proud to be a member of Children’s Benefit League and to support an organization that cares about the health and well-being of the whole child, from physical health to mental health.

As a mother, I know how difficult it can be to find the right help for your children when they need it.  Looking back, I wish I had known where to turn for more support for my own children, particularly when it came to their mental health.

Mental health support for children and young people is so important, especially today as they navigate pressures and challenges that previous generations never experienced, including the constant presence of social media.

I also understand how quickly a family’s access to healthcare can change.   For so many families, health insurance is tied to full-time employment—but not every job provides benefits. Many people work one or even multiple part-time jobs, sometimes because employers limit part-time hours below the threshold for benefits. 

That is one of the reasons Children’s Benefit League means so much to me.  For 80 years, CBL has raised funds to support trusted nonprofit partners that help local children and families overcome barriers to essential care—including medical, dental, mental health, developmental, and disability services.

During Long Beach Gives, I’m raising funds for CBL so we can help expand the reach of these wonderful organizations and the essential services they provide.
