This year at the Earthlodge began with promise as our grant team grew to three with the addition of Láwû (Mango), whose presence strengthened our work. When Láwû (Mango) unexpectedly passed away in March, the loss reverberated deeply through our staff and participants, shaping the year with grief and tenderness. Even as we mourn, our community has faced mounting political attacks—ICE raids, DEI rollbacks, and federal funding cuts—that make our work more urgent than ever. Despite the heaviness, we have continued to show up for our community, though it has not been easy. With sustained monetary support, we could create a needed cushion to exhale, tend to our grief, and nurture the balance required to care for ourselves as fully as we care for others. We are deeply grateful for any contributions made to this fundraiser, and if donating isn’t possible, we invite you to share it with your networks to help us continue this vital work.

The Earthlodge Center for Transformation’s core mission is to elevate healing and wellness through culturally based education, community building, ceremony, advocacy and hands-on service. The Earthlodge is a Black founded and Queer-led sanctuary for community members of all ages that centers nature based modalities to remediate trauma and prompt wellness and resiliency in our community. Based in Long Beach, California we have been serving our community throughout the State of California for over 20 years – more specifically in Los Angeles County. 90% of our leadership, both on our staff team and board, are QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and 85% of the 3,500 people that we serve annually are QTBIPOC across all age groups.
