My journey with Camp Fire began 36 years ago when I was a kindergartener stepping into a Camp Fire club for the first time. Designed as a coed scouting organization, Camp Fire aims to offer diverse opportunities for youth while promoting self-discovery, leadership, and a heart for nature and community service. And while those elements were an important presence in my Camp Fire journey, other, perhaps unexpected, elements took the spotlight in my heart. I'm forever grateful for the lifelong friendships I built with my club members and the warmth I felt from my volunteer leader. I remember singing songs around the campfire with total strangers who became best friends. I'm grateful for dirt and trees and chopping wood. I hold close all the memories built at the annual summer day camp and feeling myself coming out of my shell as I walked through Camp Fire's Day Camp Assistant program. I thank Camp Fire for the opportunity to find myself and step into who I am today.

Decades later, I knew Camp Fire would play an important role in the lives of my own 2 children. So, I volunteered to lead a club for each of them. Through that journey, I've been able to be witness as the 30 kindergarteners in my 2 clubs became the truly incredible teens and pre-teens I lead today. It's a joy to see them finding their own paths, trying out leadership, and growing a heart for others and their community .

Your donation to Camp Fire directly benefits my 2 Camp Fire clubs and the 30 young people I lead, along with the hundreds of other Camp Fire kids throughout Long Beach. Thank you for joining me in supporting this organization that means so much to me, my family, and my Camp Fire family.
