The New Education-Outreach of SCBC

Recently, the Southern California Brass Consortium had the privilege of performing a concert for a group of 2nd graders. Our mission was to introduce these young students to the power and joy of live music. While we played a variety of pieces, one moment stood out as truly unforgettable.

When the first notes of the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song began, something magical happened. The entire auditorium of 2nd graders erupted, singing the song at the top of their lungs with pure joy and excitement. They weren't just listening to a concert; they were a part of it.

For many of these children, this was their very first live concert experience—a moment where they connected with a full brass ensemble through music they knew and loved. The looks on the faces of the teachers and staff told us all we needed to know: this was a special, shared moment that none of us would soon forget.

This is why we are asking for your support. Your donation will help us expand this new program, bringing more concerts to students and creating more of these "wow!" moments. Every child deserves the chance to experience the magic of live music and find joy in the arts. Help us make sure more students have moments like these.
