In Honor of Sharon ❤️
This is my sister-in-law, Sharon. She was a ray of sunshine in our family! Her grandson inherited those same beautiful blue eyes. And as beautiful as Sharon was on the outside, she was even more beautiful on the inside.
Sharon passed away just a week ago, and our family is heartbroken by her loss. As we reminisce and share our memories, we are reminded again and again of just how amazing she was.
Sharon liked everyone she met—and they liked her, too! She found the positive in every situation and was always ready for whatever adventure came her way.
When you look up the word “giving” in our family dictionary, Sharon’s picture should be there. She was the absolute definition of a giving person.
Sharon took the time to get to know people and had a way of making everyone feel comfortable. Anyone who ever received a gift from her knows what an amazing gift-giver she was. She learned what you liked and then searched for something unique and meaningful just for you—and she was always spot on!
For instance, I like hearts. So for birthdays, Christmas, or any gift-giving occasion, Sharon would find me a unique heart. I have a heart wind chime, a heart door knocker, a heart string-art plaque, and a heart picture frame. Each one is unlike anything else I’ve seen, and each reminds me of her.
In addition to being such a warm and giving person, Sharon loved children—and children loved her! The photos on this page show Sharon with her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a great-niece. She exuded happiness, and when children were with her, they did too.
Because Sharon was an organ donor, even her final act was one of giving. Through the donation of her corneas, she gave the gift of sight to a needy child. It seems especially fitting that Sharon, with those beautiful blue eyes, could leave behind such an extraordinary gift.
Her passing has made me reflect on my own life and think about how I can be a little more like Sharon.
So, in Sharon’s honor, I would like to raise $500 for local children through Children’s Benefit League during Long Beach Gives. If you would like to help me celebrate Sharon’s beautiful, giving spirit, I hope you’ll consider making a donation.
And there is one more special part to this tribute: my brother, Sharon’s husband, has offered to match every donation made in her honor, with the hope of turning our $500 goal into $1,000 for local children.
Let’s all be a little more like Sharon. ❤️
