Long Beach is my home, and TIP is an organization I’ve believed in for more than a decade.
My connection to TIP began after a life-changing experience of my own. Dr. Bernal, the UCI burn physician who saved my life, was involved with TIP. When I asked what I could do to thank her, she encouraged me to join the TIP National Board. That was 10 years ago, and I’ve been proud to serve ever since.
Over those years, I’ve seen the difference TIP can make for people experiencing tragedy—providing immediate emotional support, practical assistance, and one-to-one human connection that can help lighten the burden of trauma.
I was also there from the beginning, helping bring TIP to Long Beach. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to see its impact personally. When friends of mine experienced a death, TIP volunteer Char responded to the scene. I saw the relief on their faces because she was with them. In that moment, I saw firsthand what it means to have a trained, compassionate person show up when a family is overwhelmed by tragedy.
That’s why I’m raising funds for TIP of Long Beach—and I’m matching donations made through my fundraising page.
Your gift helps provide training for new volunteers, continuing education, survivor resource materials, and the supplies our volunteers need when they respond. Just $250 helps train one new TIP volunteer.
Please join me in supporting TIP of Long Beach. Your donation will go twice as far through my match, helping ensure that when tragedy strikes in our community, someone is there to provide compassion, support, and practical help.
