Mark Halushka

Hello, my name is Mark Halushka, and I’m raising $1,000 in support of Angels Gate Cultural Center.

I first discovered Angels Gate through a community mixer hosted by The Nonprofit Partnership and Leadership Long Beach. As a proud graduate of the Leadership Long Beach program, I’ve spent years connecting with people and places that shape our region. But stepping onto the Angels Gate campus for the first time was something else entirely. The view, the energy, the sense of purpose in the air, hit me instantly. This wasn’t just another nonprofit. This was a sanctuary for the arts, for education, and for the soul.

My connection to this place runs deep. I come from a family rooted in youth mentorship and education. So, when I learned about Angels Gate’s work with young students through programs like Artists-in-Classrooms, it struck a chord. I saw in their mission what I’ve spent my life working toward: creating access and opportunity for the next generation.

Angels Gate Cultural Center brings hands-on, high-impact arts education into underfunded classrooms across Los Angeles County. Through creativity, these students find their voice. They learn to trust their instincts, to express their truth, and to see their future in full color. I’ve seen the spark in their eyes, and I can tell you, this work matters.
