Analicia Avila

My name is Analicia. I sing Alto with SCC. I joined SCC in early 2026 and have loved every moment of singing with this wonderful group of individuals. Music has always been my favorite form of self-expression. Music has been there for me on my best and worst days. To be able to make music and create beautiful harmonies with others has been profoundly therapeutic, especially in a space centered towards the LGBTQ+ community. 

I am so excited for our next concert, The First Pride. Our song selections feel like such a wonderful way to honor our trans and queer ancestors, such as Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, who fought hard for the rights we have today as a community. The songs are also a stark reminder that the fight for equality and justice is far from over, and that as a community we can overcome anything so long as we remain united. I have always believed that music is a powerful form of advocacy. Music can move hearts and change minds. These are just some of the many reasons I love singing with SCC.
