Creating Change Starts With You

I can honestly say that the Earthlodge Center and community saved my life. As a young, black, queer individual, I had a lot of repressed fear and rage growing up in a society I could feel was oppressing me. I had no active ties to my ancestors and felt no purpose beyond putting one foot in front of the other. I joined the EL when I was only 10 years old (for reference, I'm 23 now), because of those teachings and having a dedicated healing space. Unlike many my age, I feel comfortable within myself and know how to regulate myself through tough situations (i.e., our current politcal climate). I have an active relationship with the land around me, which gives me a type of fullfillment I can't even express with words. I now work as a program associate, creating different activities for youth from ages 7 to 25. I know I'm creating a difference in their lives and it started with someone creating a difference in mine. I want to give to the Earthlodge a fraction of what they have given me. Please help me reach my goal.
