Hi, I’m Newton! I’m excited to raise funds for the CELP Scholars as part of the Aquarium of the Pacific’s Long Beach Gives campaign. This program is changing the future of marine science by providing leadership opportunities to young people from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about protecting our oceans.

Why This Cause is Important to Me

CELP has impacted my academic career greatly by connecting me to numerous talented people from diverse backgrounds with differing perspectives. This has led to many productive conversations that have helped in my decision-making process.

I was most surprised by how welcoming and accommodating everyone at Aquarium of the Pacific has been to each scholar. My career search was aided by the conversations I have had with staff members from different departments at Aquarium of the Pacific. Additionally, It is great to see how many scholars are still involved with the aquarium.
