Finding My Voice Through the Junior League!

The Junior League of Long Beach has given me incredible opportunities to grow as a leader and advocate. As our California State Public Affairs Committee (CalSPAC) Senior Delegate, I’ve learned how to analyze legislation, communicate with legislative staff, and build relationships with elected officials and advocates throughout California. Last year, I had the opportunity to arrange a legislative meeting between past and current JLLB Presidents and Elise Borth, Legislative Aide to State Senator Lena A. Gonzalez.

This year, I’ve continued building on that experience by tracking 16 CalSPAC-supported bills and sending 10 Letters of Support to Governor Gavin Newsom on behalf of CalSPAC. These experiences have shown me firsthand how the Junior League empowers women to find their voice, engage with their communities, and become effective advocates for meaningful change.

I am incredibly grateful to the Junior League of Long Beach for the opportunities, friendships, and experiences it has given me. This Long Beach Gives, I’m asking my family and friends to help support an organization that has invested so much in my own growth and in our community.
